Which Streaming Services Offer the Hallmark Channel?
Are you paying too much for an overpriced cable contract because you don’t want to lose Hallmark channel? Here are the best ways to get Hallmark Channel without cable.
1. Philo
Our first option is the best way to watch the Hallmark Channel without cable. The platform offers a good selection of lifestyle and entertainment content for low rates with no contract.
This makes it one of the cheapest ways to stream Hallmark Channel without cable.
Its channel lineup includes AMC, A&E, Animal Planet, Comedy Central, CMT, Discovery Channel, DIY, Food Network, Lifetime, MTV, and HGTV.
There’s just one catch. Philo doesn’t have ESPN, FOX Sports, or local channels. If that doesn’t bother you, you’re golden.
While Philo doesn’t include local channels, a simple digital antenna like the Mohu Leaf, will.
Learn more in our review of Philo that completely covers the service.
2. Sling TV
Reliable and well-known, Sling is easy to use and easy on the budget. Popular channels are available through its channel packages – Sling TV Orange or Sling TV Blue.
To get all three Hallmark channels (Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Drama, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) with Sling, you must add the “Lifestyles Extra” package for $6 per month to your Orange or Blue channel base.
Cable costs $110 per month for most people. Sling will save you a ton of money.
Read about the pros and cons of this option in our detailed guide to Sling TV.
3. fuboTV
This streaming service is an excellent choice for watching live sports without cable. Since it also carries Hallmark along with other popular networks, it’s a win for every TV watcher.
The Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Drama, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are all included in fuboTV’s base package. This is fantastic if you like to watch Hallmark Christmas movies or Countdown to Christmas.
FuboTV lets you watch live TV and record programs on its cloud DVR. Read about all the features in our fuboTV review here.
4. DIRECTV STREAM
An easy-to-use menu, reliable service, and content make this platform one of the most popular alternatives to cable TV.
We’ve personally tested DIRECTV STREAM, formerly AT&T TV Now, and think it works great. Despite being on the pricier end of the streaming spectrum, its base package includes Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That makes it worth including on this list.

5. Vidgo

6. YouTube TV
YouTube TV is our highest-rated live TV streaming service and it just recently added the full suite of Hallmark networks.
Like fubo, YouTube TV costs $64.99 per month for its base package. This gets you roughly 85 channels of well-liked sports, lifestyle, and entertainment networks.
In its addition, YouTube TV added Hallmark, Hallmark Drama, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries to its channel lineup. Their base package also boasts an unlimited cloud DVR and three simultaneous streams.
The one drawback is YouTube TV and Roku are currently in a dispute. You can’t access the service on Roku devices, though it still has a large number of supported devices.

7. Frndly TV
The final option to watch Hallmark channels without cable is Frndly TV. The service is a newer streaming platform that competes well with Philo.
Frndly TV has just over 30 channels, focusing largely on lifestyle and entertainment networks plus a few niche sports channels. It also includes Hallmark, Hallmark Drama, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in its lineup.
Frndly costs just $6.99 per month for its entry-level package. You can upgrade to its Classic plan for $8.99 or Premium for $10.99 per month.
The main difference is number of streams and DVR capabilities.
If you don’t need a lot, and can pair it with an antenna, Frndly is a solid alternative worth considering.

Ron O'Rear says
Very comprehensive;however I think these streaming services require the installation of a device.Do I not need a Firestick or Roku to take advantage of these services?
John Schmoll says
I believe that was actually addressed in the post, but yes in some cases you’ll need something like a Fire TV Stick or Roku to access a streaming service. If you hve a Smart TV, you may not need one.
Jeff says
All the above sounds great. One caveat ….
I still need internet. I only have a choice in my area of Comcast with the lowest rate being around $40 first year and going up to $75 second year or Verizon DSL (slow as molasses).
When I add up the Sling TV price which is superb and the internet price for the first year I get the savings I am looking for. In the second year I am paying about what I am now for Comcast minus the X1 voice remote which is really dandy.
So, my question is how to work around the internet price and it seems I cannot at least where I live. Any thoughts?
John Schmoll says
That is a good point Jeff and you definitely need to do the math to make sure it all adds up. We’ve written a post on how to get Internet without cable. Check it out for some ideas/options
Mike says
Hallmark Movies Now does offer quite a few holiday titles, however, they are older titles. The new titles are only available with a cable or streaming package or through Kodi. With Kodi you will need to look up each title individually but it costs nothing.
John Schmoll says
Good to know Mike. I’ve never personally used Kodi, but good to know.
TJohnson says
There is also a newer streaming service called FRNDLY TV which has 15 channels total, including all three Hallmark channels, QVC, and several family friendly channels like UP, PIXL, Game Show Network. Base price is $5.99/month
John Schmoll says
We’ve heard about that new service. Looks like a decent option for those only wanting those channels.
Marilyn says
I am new to this Frndly app. I followed the instructions to download it to my Firestick but get to a point where I am prompted to select my cable provider. How do I bypass that section? I don’t have cabl. The whole reason I got it is because it stated you do not need cable. Can anyone help?
John Schmoll says
Sorry to hear that. Yes, you can watch Hallmark without cable but we’ve not tested Frndly so we can’t speak to it. That said, they market themselves as a way to get the channel so it shouldn’t be requiring that.
